Meniscus and Cartilage Procedures

Knee arthroscopy (key hole surgery) is used to treat a variety of conditions, including ligament or cartilage tears, damage from arthritis, torn meniscus (knee shock absorbers) and removal of loose bodies in the joint. In addition, it can be used to diagnose knee injuries and determine the best course of treatment.

Arthroscopy can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of other knee problems as well. It can reveal the presence of infection, inflammation, benign tumours or loose bodies that may have been missed with other diagnostic methods. If these conditions are found, the surgeon can take steps to address them in the arthroscopic procedure, if possible.

Knee arthroscopy is a safe and effective procedure that can provide relief for many knee problems. In some cases, it may be used as an alternative to more invasive surgeries, or as part of a larger treatment plan. Get in touch with Dr Loseli if you have any questions about whether knee arthroscopy is right for you.
